About Pauline:
Founded by Pauline and Rob Rogers, Pauline’s Quilters World began in 1996 as Country Fabrics and Quilters Store, and was the first quilt shop in Toowoomba, Queensland. With the subsequent redevelopment of the shop site in 2008, Pauline and Rob made the decision to move from a bricks and mortar store to an online shop and renamed the business Pauline’s Quilter’s World.
Pauline’s Quilters World is an Australian owned company, with our SasherTM Tools and Precision Quilt Tools produced right here at our workshop in Southern Queensland.
However, Pauline’s love of quilting started long before then. Her career commenced in the 1980s as a travelling patchwork and quilting tutor, commissioned by the Queensland Arts Council to teach the women of the Australian Outback. Her passion for educating fellow quilters and sharing her in-depth knowledge saw her travel across Australia and New Zealand, tutoring and guest speaking at Quilting Symposiums, shows, workshops and events.
In 2015, having spent over 25 years experiencing the challenges of trying to fit the bulk of a big quilt through a domestic sewing machine, and seeing other quilters also experience the same challenges, Pauline invented the SasherTM Tools and her Quilt As You Go (QAYG) technique.
These tools and techniques enabled Pauline to begin attending Quilting Shows across Australia and America, reaching an entirely new audience of quilting enthusiasts, where she could be heard sharing her motto of “Who said we should quilt last”. The Sasher Tools were so greatly received by quilters the world over, that they won the Australian Craft Industry’s Innovation Award in 2015.
Today, Pauline continues to travel the globe attending quilt shows and teaching classes of quilters who are eager to share in her knowledge. When not on the road, she can be found at our workshop inventing new and exciting tools and patterns to share with the quilting community.
